The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 and Vredestein Quatrac Pro are all-round tyres from well-esteemed manufacturers, Goodyear and Vredestein, suitable for most weather conditions.

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2

The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2, a successor to the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons, shines with its excellent ice braking and ice lateral guidance performance. Scoring an impressive 65% in our ratings, it secured second place in the ADAC test out of seven tyres and ranked fifth in the Autobild test amongst 31 competitors.

Notable strengths included a relatively solid performance on wet surfaces and low wear. However, some weakness was noted on snow-covered and dry roads. It's worth pointing out that the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 has been replaced by the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3, which carries forward these strengths.

Vredestein Quatrac Pro

The Vredestein Quatrac Pro, made in Hungary, scored a commendable 61% in our ratings. Despite securing only the sixth place in the ADAC test, it surpassed Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 in the Autobild test by securing an impressive third position out of 31 tyres.

Praised for its low noise levels, in particular, interior noise, the tyre performed well on wet surfaces and showed lesser wear. Notably, it displayed potent wet braking, wet circle cornering, wet handling, and snow traction capabilities.

However, it presented some concerns on dry surfaces and performed poorly on snow-covered roads—a factor buyers must bear in mind, given there's no newer version.

In Summary

Both tyres offer good all-round performance and exhibit their unique strengths. Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 presents significant prowess with slowing and guiding on ice, while Vredestein Quatrac Pro shines with its handling on wet surfaces and noise levels. However, they also share some similar weaknesses on snow-covered and dry roads. Comparatively, the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 edged it slightly overall in tests amidst common competitor groups.
