Today, we are comparing two highly competitive year-round tyres - the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 and the Michelin CrossClimate+, manufactured by Bridgestone and Michelin respectively.

The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 is commended in tests for its dry handling capability, along with impressive dry braking and wet circle cornering. According to the Autoklub ČR test, it ranked 4th out of 7 tyres and stood out especially for its excellent dry braking and wet circle cornering. In the Autobild test, the tyre took the top spot out of 27 total tyres tested, scoring highly in dry handling, exterior noise, rolling resistance, wet braking, and dry braking. The downsides included mediocre lateral control and traction on snow, as well as a satisfactory but not excellent mileage.

On the other hand, the Michelin CrossClimate+ showcases an all-round performance, excelling in dry and wet conditions. In the Autoklub ČR test, it ranked 2nd, showing strong performance in dry and wet handling, comfort, and specifically in wet and dry braking. In the Autobild test, it also took the second position, demonstrating impressive dry braking, rolling resistance, exterior noise, and especially in mileage and snow handling. The tyre was also praised for its high mileage, precise steering behaviour and low rolling resistance. Its higher price level is something to keep in mind, though it backs up the cost with its robust performance.

Both tyres bring forth their strengths, but based on our rating, the Michelin CrossClimate+ comes out ahead with a score of 71%, compared to the Bridgestone Weather Control A005's score of 45%.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a well-rounded, all-weather tyre with impressive mileage and don't mind paying a bit extra, the Michelin CrossClimate+ would be the choice for you. However, if your driving largely involves dry and wet conditions and noise level and rolling resistance are your main concerns, consider the Bridgestone Weather Control A005.
